From the client record to the recorded policy
Issuance starts from an existing client. You complete the insurer, the type of insurance, the validity period and the contract details, and the policy becomes part of the portfolio. Because the policy is linked directly to the client, the same information does not need to be entered again in other files.
Insurers and types of insurance
Insurers are kept as separate records in the system, and each policy is linked to its insurer. This way the same company is named consistently across all policies, whoever recorded them.
The commission, on each policy
Each policy has a commission field. The values entered there are the ones that feed the aggregate commission reports.
What happens after recording
Once recorded, the policy appears in the portfolio with its expiry and renewal dates, and in the renewals list when the date comes close. On the client file you see it alongside the client's other policies and claims files. The platform does not send the policy to the client and does not handle its approval: recording it is an internal step for the broker.
